Our color selection coupled with the stripe motif brings to mind classic men’s winter wear, but don’t feel limited - with 15 ITO Rakuda colors to choose from, there are so many possibilities. We can’t wait to see what you choose! Tag your projects #itoMITAKA.

Stitches & Techniques
Garter stitch in rows: knit all sts

Tip: to spare you from weaving in so many ends, carry the inactive colors up the side of your work instead of cutting them. When starting a row, bring the working yarn from back to front once around the inactive colors, trapping them, then knit as usual.

NB: Cast on and bind off very loosely to keep your long edges nice and loose.

Directions
Cast on 370 st with #647 Orient Blue
Set up row: k to end
Work stripe pattern in garter st (k all rows):
2 Rows #647 Orient Blue
2 Rows #648 Pool Green
2 Rows #647 Orient Blue
2 Rows #643 Camel
2 Rows #648 Pool Green
2 Rows #647 Orient Blue
2 Rows #648 Pool Green
2 Rows #643 Camel
Work the 16 rows of the stripe pattern a total of 7 times, then repeat the first 6 rows.
Next Row: loosely bind off with #647 Orient Blue.
Weave in your ends.

Fringe
Wrap yarn around a piece of cardboard measuring approx. 12 cm / 4¾", cut along one side so that the pieces measure approx. 24 cm / 9½". Two pieces of yarn = one tassel. Attach one matching tassel at each end of every stripe (2 worked rows or one ridge): fold in half to make a loop and use the crochet hook to pull this loop partway through the end stitch, then feed the loose ends through the loop and pull them. When all tassels are attached, use sharp scissors to trim the fringe evenly to 9 – 10 cm / 3½ - 4".

Finishing
Hand wash cool. Lay flat to dry.
